Tuesday 14th July – Totnes & Buckfast Abbey with cream tea £25 / £18 without tea. Now sold out (waiting list only)
Totnes is one of the oldest boroughs in the country with numerous thriving markets. Tuesdays host a summer Elizabethan market where traders dress in period costumes. Known for its bohemian culture, Totnes boasts independent boutiques, many varied cafes and holistic therapy centres along with more traditional shops. You can walk by the river, visit the castle and enjoy all that Totnes has to offer. After lunch, the coach will take us to Buckfast Abbey where there will be time for you to explore the Abbey and gardens with an optional cream tea to round off the afternoon.
Accessibility: Totnes has a steep high street with narrow pavements. The coach will drop us at the top of the town and pick us up at the bottom. Access to the castle is via a long flight of worn, stone steps. There is a level accessible path along by the river Dart. There are several accessible toilets around the town. Buckfast Abbey offers various accessibility features including level entrances and step-free access to many areas, making it welcoming for visitors with mobility challenges.
