Social Events and Excursions

Introduction

Before arranging any event, the Social Committee researches facts relating to health and safety in order to fully support our members. Any particular issues relating to health and safety are listed on our webpage as well as included on your ticket. However, it cannot be too strongly stated that members must take into account their own capabilities before joining groups and excursions. In addition, members must ensure they wear suitable apparel and walking aids to meet all weathers and ground conditions.

Please contact the Social Secretary or Vice Chair in the Contact Us section for details of any specific trip.

Arrangements for payment

Arrangements for payment for each of these events will be set out in emails sent direct to members and also in our u3a's newsletter which is also sent direct to members. Members will also be able to purchase tickets at the Monthly Meetings.

More details are in the Events List here.

Our next trip is on Tuesday 14 July when we go to Totnes and Buckfast Abbey. This is now sold out (waiting list only). The September event will be an evening cruise with fish & chips aboard Stuart Line on September 4th.

Looking to the future, on 28 June an email was sent to all members about our Christmas lunch at The Belmont Hotel Sidmouth. This year we have managed to secure two dates - Thursday 3rd and Friday 11th December. If members would like to go they are asked to reply to that email with their preferred date.
