On Thursday 19 November, Tony Aston will be talking about his book, "The Bomber and the Weathervane". This is an illustrated talk and presentation that tells the story about how an old, beaten-up, metal weathervane fashioned in the shape of a wartime Lancaster bomber, found in a salvage yard in Surrey, led to the identification of a Lancaster that was shot down in 1944 with all crew lost, the bringing together of the crews' descendants from the UK, Ireland, South Africa and Canada, the dedication of the weathervane by the International Bomber Command Centre as a formal war memorial, and remembrance services held at the crews' graveside in Berlin and at the crash site nearby.

This will be held at Holy Trinity Church, Exmouth at 10.30 am. Refreshments can be purchased before.
