Astronomy

Venue: Exmouth Library Community Room

The Astronomy Group meets once a month for an informal discussion of whatever topics the members have decided is of interest. Subjects covered to date include Black Holes, Comets and Asteroids, and Telescopes. We meet in Exmouth Library Community Room (but can vary), and there is a charge for the use of this room so we ask that members make a small contribution towards this cost each time.

We have also visited the local Norman Lockyer Observatory at Sidmouth (https://normanlockyer.com/) – our first visit included a lecture on Mercury and the Moon followed by a fascinating tour of the observatory itself.

We hope to arrange a trip to the dark skies of Exmoor later in the year.
